Randomness

Where has September gone? I can't believe that it is almost October! And I have been such a slacker with this little blog of mine. What can I say ... life happens. And life is good! We have a busy few weekends ahead of us so I should have plenty to write about and I will definitely have tons of pictures to share.

We've got family get togethers, weddings, pumpkin patches, Halloween, football Sundays and the holidays approaching. I'm trying to remember the days of trying to figure out how to keep busy.

Foto Friday is back on for tomorrow. I promise to do better.

I had my first pumpkin coffee of the season this morning. It was delicious.

Walker can blow kisses. I swear he melts my heart everyday. He also loves to wave to everyone we see now. I love how personable he is. We started a parent/child gym class yesterday and his strength amazed me! I find new reasons to be proud of him everyday. He is so determined. I love that.

The leaves are starting to turn around here. It makes me want to drive on the parkway but I don't foresee that happening this year. We are just way too busy. But maybe a picnic later in the fall?

I am ready for long sleeves, weekly crockpot meals and the smell of fall.

Christmas shopping has officially started in this household! I have bought a few things and pretty much have a complete list of what to get family this year. I am determined not to go broke this holiday season. Don't we all say that though?

Okay ... time to finish up some laundry and start packing for a Raleigh visit!

wednesdays are for walker

Check out the cutest one year old in the world! We headed up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Tweetsie Railroad to celebrate Walker turning one and we had the best time.

We started our weekend out by grabbing a bucket of KFC and had ourselves a picnic. Walker enjoyed the green beans a bit more ... I love that he loves his veggies!

On Sunday we took our big boy to Tweetsie Railroad to ride the old steam engine, meet some cowboys, ride the carousel and feed a few animals. He had such a great time. I think his favorite was the train ride. He was so relaxed and loved looking out to the mountainside. I can't wait to take him back when he is a few years older to do a few more things. This is the perfect place to take your little ones of all ages ... Andrew and I had a great time too.

We're looking forward to some cooler weather, the leaves changing and another trip to the mountains for another picnic. It is so beautiful and peaceful. This past weekend was a much needed mini vacation away and we can't wait to go again.
